fifteen minutes

a Camila del Rio

I met Camila and her sister Florencia in Mendoza, Argentina (they're from Chile). They were very nice. We had a good time, and two cases of wine. Later, Camila, a student of literature, asked me for some of my writing, and I sent her a collection of short stories. I got this e-mail back:

"Fuck! I just had a Déjà vú or something,..I have the weirdest question ever!! _By any chance do you have a webpage, blog.... or at least used to have one? I swear to god I think I have already read this stories ..."

Yes, I have a blog, etc., etc. Then I received the following:

"No waay!!! In journalism I had to do some work with web pages… specially bloggers and i came across your blog and I did an entire course work about it… Ok.. this is way too bizarre!! The world is waaay to small!! I loved your short stories!!"

I do not drink enough to handle coincidences like this. It continues (11:40 pm):

"my entire class read your blog!!! too much coincidence... i am soo freaking astonished"

If this is fame, I want no more. I think my head is going to explode. In summary:

Camila: "What i recall though...that i used you as an example of creative writing and how ppl put their work online without aiming it to be read by many ppl but at the same time to exposed like that.. in some way ur wishing that someone else could read it..."

Yes, perfect. You could not have picked a better example if you had found a blog written by the monkey in my profile picture.

And then:

Camila: "i mean i cant stop laughing... dude i am scared!! this is way too much coincidence for me,..i like small doses of weird things in my life.. so i can digest them welli mean i cant stop laughing... dude i am scared!! this is way too much coincidence for me,..i like small doses of weird things in my life.. so i can digest them well."

I could more easily digest my laptop.
